Howdy Dr. Gill!


Dr. Tanya N. Gill, OD graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1999. Her clinical emphasis since graduation was in General and Pediatric Ophthalmology where Dr. Gill worked with Dr. Anthony Agadzi, MD & Dr. Roger Carlson, MD in Vallejo, CA and Dr. Gayle Shimokaji, MD in Greenbrae, CA.

Dr. Gill has been at Oakland Vision Center since 2005 and became the Clinical Director in 2007. She is a well known lecturer throughout the West Coast and speaks to other Optometrists and Ophthalmologists on topics such as Dry Eye and Blepharitis and Allergic Conjunctivitis.  She is an editorial contributor to many trade publications and writes for her column "How to be a Kick-A$$ Female Entrepreneur," published in Eyecare Business magazine.

Dr. Gill is a member of the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry. In addition to her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Gill has a BA in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley and a BS in Vision Science from UC Berkeley. Go Bears!

In 2015, Dr. Gill developed & founded We Love Eyes, a green beauty cosmetics company that makes vegan + natural + non-toxic cleansing products specifically for your eyelids & eyelashes.

She loves kick-ass female entrepreneurship, photography, collecting milk glass antiques, DIY projects (she made the eyeglass pillows in the lobby), Crossfit, skiing and eats vegetables everyday. She is happily married and lives in Oakland.

Dr. Arian Fartash was born and raised in Southern California. She is a second generation optometrist, who takes pride in making sure everyone is able to receive quality eye care in the community.

Dr. Fartash graduated with honors from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science and a minor in Near Eastern Studies and Languages. After completing her doctorate degree at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, she became a board member of the Rio Honda Optometric Society and received the California Optometric Association's Young OD of the year.

Dr. Fartash also enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pet Pomeranian:) She also takes time to travel and post all about eyes on Instagram. Find her @glamoptometrist.

안녕 Dr Choi!


Dr Young Choi O.D. grew up in Atlanta, Georgia but also calls Dayton, Ohio home. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Emory University and enjoyed working for Emory University School of Medicine as a clinical research coordinator. During this time she realized her passion was in healthcare specifically in eye care and pursued a career in optometry. 

She received her doctorate of optometry at Illinois College of Optometry with summa cum laude honors. Her clinical training as a student includes externships at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center and Beaufort Naval Hospital. She also completed a 13 month ocular disease residency at the Cincinnati Eye Institute, the largest private ophthalmology practice in the country. 

She now enjoys living in beautiful San Francisco, California with her husband. When their schedule allows they like to travel and be foodies (so that means every lunch period!). She also likes to golf or pretend to golf when the weather allows. Dr Choi is excited for the opportunity to be your eye care provider and to get to know you better!

** Congratulations to Dr. Khela who recently gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Aria! Dr. Khela will be on maternity leave until 2018.

Dr. Gagan Khela, OD grew up in the raisin capital of the world located in the Central Valley of California and attended college at UCLA . . . go Bruins! While at UCLA, Dr. Khela received her BS in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology. Her strong interest in health and science combined with her desire to help others led to a career in optometry. 

Dr. Khela completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry in Orange County. She was a top student in her class graduating with cum laude honors. She completed a summer research fellowship at The New England College of Optometry in Boston studying myopia progression (nearsightedness) in animal models. Her contributions were published and presented at The Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology 2013 annual meeting. 

Her optometric training consists of experiences in primary care, contact lenses, pediatrics and ocular disease management. Dr. Khela completed clinical rotations at The Veteran Affairs Hospital in Palo Alto, Optometric Center of Los Angeles, and the Naval Air Force Base in Lemoore. 

Dr. Khela is a member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Associaton and volunteers for the educational non-profit Minds Matter of San Francisco.

In her spare time Dr. Khela enjoys spending time with her husband, friends & family, cross-fit, running, and traveling to different areas of the world.
